CHESTER, VT. - For nearly 20 years, Salon 2000 has been creating exciting hair styles and offering a full-service salon that caters to each of their client’s own unique personality and individuality. Located at 22 Avon Road in Chester, Salon 2000 offers today’s most advanced coloring and hair management techniques, as well as a full Day-spa, all performed by their highly trained and dedicated staff.

Established by owner Sarah Yake in 1992, the original salon was opened on Main Street in Chester, before re-locating to its current Chester Depot location in 2004. “I was inspired by some talented hair dressers and salon owners in my youth, including Tom Columbia and David and Andrea Whitman,” Sarah stated. “I knew I wanted to become a great hair dresser first, and then bring my own excellence and what I’d learned into the industry.”
As a salon owner, Sarah’s main goal from the outset was to create an esthetically pleasing and relaxing atmosphere, which came to full fruition when she and her husband, John, purchased the current Chester Depot property nearly 10 years ago. “High ceilings, a field stone fire place and enough open space to also offer our clients massage therapy and facials. We were the first salon in our area to offer these services and be considered a true Day-spa.”
Salon 2000 also strives to keep their product lines fresh and up to date, offering a selection that won’t be found in the average box store chains including J Beverly Hills. Along with the many services they offer, including manicures, pedicures, massage therapy and facials, Salon 2000 also stays on top of all the latest in hair care products. Salon 2000’s newest service includes HotHeads Hair Extensions, the latest in hair extensions and a top-of-the-line product. “It is a great product… human hair offered in a variety of shades and applied without the need of heat or tools.”
Sarah’s experienced staff is also top-notch; “When it comes to my staff, I am very blessed, having worked alongside stylist Hannah Monier for 20 years,” Sarah added. “Having also worked in the hair industry in Texas, Hannah brought her unique and artistic excellence back to Vermont and ever since, we have shared the same vision of what a great salon should be. Christie Patterson joined our team three years ago and is a very talented stylist. She brings great passion and professionalism to our business.”
Salon 2000 will always go above and beyond to bring their clients the very best that the industry has to offer. “It is our passion and goal to offer the very best to our clients,” Sarah concluded. “We appreciate all our guests because they are the reason we are here.
